Hi! I am Meredith – a New Yorker via CT and AZ, court advocate and celebrity know-it-all.
Call me crazy, but on August 3, 2014 I will swim 1500 meters in the infamous Hudson River, bike 40k along the West Side of Manhattan, and run 10k before ending in the middle of Central Park.
Why you ask? (I ask myself that same question after some particularly tough training sessions!) I am participating in the NYC Triathlon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training (TNT). Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating in the NYC Triathlon and with your support, I can also help improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
I am also doing this in memory of my grandma, Jane Sidlik, who battled with lymphoma. She always told me that, while I was too stubborn for my own good at times, once I put my mind to something there was no stopping me. Help me to prove her right as I work on two goals: becoming a triathlete and finding a cure!
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures. (I’ll also accept good thoughts, well wishes, and your cheers as I cross the finish line in Central Park!)
